Lithuanian Curd Cheese marinated in Pumpkin seed oil

Usual Lithuanian curd cheese, marinated in cold pressed pumpkin seed oil, along with spices and garlic, fits nicely with salad on white bread or toast with fresh or dried tomatoes and olives ... Try it!

Place the cheese in a tightly closed container, pour it with salt brine to cover the cheese (per liter of water, use three tablespoons of salt). Cover and refrigerate a day. After removing from the brine, drain and cut into small cubes. Put them in a jar, Season with spices, add crushed garlic, basil and pour the pumpkin oil. Seal the jar and store in the refrigerator. Enjoy it in 1 - 2 days !

Especially delicious with these spices containing dried olives.

Use your favorite cheese on a salad (eg., Greek salad), try it with roasted beets, cured ham or on white bread with tomatoes, use remaining pumpkin oil in salads.

Tip: Instead of cottage cheese, you can use a soft sort of cheese or feta cheese, but they do not need to be soaked in brine...
